Aktives Museum

Database of the Aktives Museum archive of newspaper articles

This database supports keyword searches for information from the Aktives Museum’s collection of newspaper articles from the last decades.

We regularly scan the newspapers Berliner Zeitung, Der Tagesspiegel, Die Tageszeitung and die Jüdische Allgemeine and the internet information site H-Soz-u-Kult for relevant articles and supplement them with articles mostly from the newspapers Die Zeit, Frankfurter Allgemeine, Jüdische Zeitung and Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Please refer to our list of categories (pdf available to download)  to find out which areas the collection covers. The list of categories provides an overview of the range of topics covered and the years of publication. The list of names covers all the persons on whom information can be found in the collection. Full-text searches are not possible. If you would like to visit our newspaper article archive in person, please contact the office to make an appointment.

Searches of our holdings can be done by name or keyword. If you are interested in a certain topic, enter the relevant keyword or words. The database is primarily designed to support searches for persons (see also the article in Members' Newsletter Nr. 61 of July 2009, S. 22).

We are very grateful for any ideas or suggestions concerning the database you may have.

PLEASE NOTE: The Society also holds a wide variety of materials on a large number of people in Nazi history (approx. 3000) which we would be glad to make available for research purposes. See the list of names for more detailed information.
